In this conversation between curator Manit Sriwanichpoom and photographer Pornsak Sakdaenprai, discussions will range from the rhythms and aspirations of society in the Phimai District in the 60’s to the Luk Thong movement which was active in this rural area in northeast Thailand. Pornsak will also discuss the way he located his business and aesthetics around this movement. This presentation also identifies the challenges and imagination that was required in practicing photography and operating studios from the equipment used to the ingenious methods applied by these photographers that were ingrained in their way of life.
