It is human nature to make marks. We often carry the “visual seeds” of our pasts and our cultures into whatever places in which we find ourselves, even when these places are spaces of incarceration..

In this special talk, Asst. Prof K. Azril Ismail, director of ICAD, UCSI University, will review his ongoing research into prison art and how it can offer those incarcerated a way to define their own identity and assert their existence to an audience far beyond the confines of their cell.
