CURRENT EXHIBITION (LEVEL 3)
Small observations of an on-going pandemic
16 AUGUST - 29 JANUARY 2023
In collaboration with Malaysia Design Archive. Booklet reproduction support from Ana Tomy.
Projek 555 is a collection of everyday observations and reflections in the form of a mini visual diary. At the end of 2020, and again in 2021, Malaysia Design Archive issued an open invitation where for a month, anyone who wanted to participate would receive a 555 notebook by mail to journal whatever they liked, however way they chose to. The idea was to create a space for pause, contemplation and connection through distance.
LATEST EXHIBITION (LEVEL 5)
Dream of the Day
Curated by Patrick Flores
29 November 2022 - 14 May 2023 (Level 5)
I dream of the day when I shall create sculptures that breathe, sweat, cough, laugh, yawn, smile, wink, gasp, dance, walk, crawl…
The exhibition title, Dream of the Day, draws from the 1965 manifesto of the Philippine-born artist David Medalla, well regarded for his long-lasting influence in the British and global contemporary art scene since the sixties. His work, as well as those of 38 other artists from the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, Egypt, and Malaysia are included in this exhibition which explores a range of media, genres, and sensibilities— from surrealism, slow cinema and trans-performance, to queer photography and feminist painting.
